Project SEARCH receives national award for excellence

The Project SEARCH program between USD 373 and NMC Health recently received a national award of excellence for the 23-24 class's 100 percent employment success milestone.

Project SEARCH is a groundbreaking program that challenges traditional expectations and empowers young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a one-year internship to gain employment skills. The Newton program is located inside NMC Health, and interns rotate through experiences in housekeeping, environmental services, culinary and more, setting them up for post-graduation success.

"The 2023-24 class of Project SEARCH interns at NMC Health was remarkable for their unified drive to gain and maintain employment," says Larry Boettcher, Project SEARCH director.

Boettcher credits the intern's robust support systems, both within the program at NMC Health and at home.

Congratulations, to our 23-24 class and Project SEARCH staff, Mr. Larry and Mr. Wood.
