Gayle Franz has been a paraprofessional since May 2007.
Before that, she taught preschool with retired USD 373 teacher Georgetta Grimmett who encouraged Franz to apply for a para position.
Her favorite memories as a para are the annual trips to the pumpkin patch.
"One thing I have learned is that a smile goes a long way. I have breakfast duty before school, and if you let kids know you are happy to see them, they are far more likely to comply when asked to follow rules," Franz said.
While behavior issues can be challenging, Franz says the joys are getting to work with her work family and greeting her kids each day.
"We love to laugh and celebrate success no matter how big or small," Franz said.
Thanks for your years of service and dedication to our students, Gayle! #RailerPride
